Hey there! Today, I have a little tutorial to share with you on making handmade pinwheels for Papertrey Ink’s Make It Monday. Spring is right around the corner, so you want to make sure to include another fun embellishment on your projects.

In the tutorial, I show about 3 ways to make the pinwheels using Papertrey Ink dies, patterned paper, cardstock and felt!

This card showcases how to use Papertrey Ink’s patterned paper and use the white space on the back to create a contrasting pinwheel.

I use Papertrey Ink’s Limitless Layer: Square dies to create the pinwheels, but don’t throw away those negative die cuts. Use those too. I created a framed sentiment with one of mine. I also adhered cardstock strips to the card front for extra color and design style.

I also created another card to share how I used a felt pinwheel to embellish a card.

Using boxy banner dies, I created a card base. I added a sentiment and used the felt pinwheel as a focal point at the top of the card.

In the video, I show how to enhance your felt pinwheel using Papertrey Ink’s pinking sheer border die.

Hello there! Today, is a group post day for Papertrey Ink’s February release. Nichole has created a fun contest for everyone to participate in and it involves the image above. For all details, please visit Nichole’s post.

For my card, I stamped a flower cluster in the center and followed with the sentiment. I matted it on a piece of melon berry bitty dot patterned paper.

I was inspired by the above-pictured stationery while browsing Paper Source’s online store. I loved the color choices and how the flowers met the greeting.

Using the new Favor It die, I created this cute Easter basket full of chocolate bunnies.

I stamped the sentiment on a tremendous tags die cut and secured it around the basket with some twill tape. I embellished the border with some cream felt die cut with a scalloped border.

On the inside, I stuffed them with die cut bunny treats.

Each bunny die cut can stand on its own.

Pick it up and turn it around and you’ll see the perfect sweet treat! I adhered the chocolate to the die cut with a glue dot.

“Every moment has its pleasures and its hope.”

It’s really all about how you choose to view situations. This card is for the person who you’ve been thinking about recently. It’s a great sentiment to use on a card when you want to get in touch and catch up on lost time to create more pleasures and hope.

First, I stamped the frame on aqua mist cardstock, then cut it out. I die cut the oval from the center to create the frame embellishment. Next, I stamped the sentiment in the center of soft stone card front. I trimmed some berry sorbet cardstock and adhered it to the left side, making sure to disconnect the continuous line to prevent it from view when the frame embellishment was adhered. Then, I stamped the girl silhouettes and cut them out. I adhered the frame and silhouettes with foam adhesive.

I added the pearls to one of the silhouettes. It looks like a choker!

What’s going on? I’ve been thinking of you! Thanks for leaving such nice comments about the masculine card and “March Madness” crafting for men series. I don’t want an overload of masculinity around here, so I thought I’d bring some soft spring back here today. Don’t worry, I’ll be featuring more project ideas for the men in your life next week!

I honestly can’t believe it! Am I turning into a “patterned paperer?” I have been using lots of patterned paper lately and I love it! It’s actually working! I’m one of those who have to practice a lot to figure out how to make it work…for me. I’m still very much a stamper at heart, but I just had to figure out how to incorporate some patterned paper and die cut cardstock. The crazy thing is I usually stamp my own patterned paper, so why using pre-printed patterned paper was a challenge is beyond me.

I added some green tulle, then layered some purple stained seam binding over top and tied it into a bow (really two bows there). I added a flower to the ribbon knot to finish it off. The ric rac velvet trim adds some texture, shape, and also hides a division line between two patterns.

The die cut cardstock is pre-printed cardstock. They come in a big pack. I really like the decorative border and the printed seed pack pattern with those tulips (tulips right? I don’t have a green thumb obviously, just appreciate nature’s beauty!) I stamped the sentiment in brown ink. The border of the card is double stitched – just to be a little different this time!

A clean and graphic one-layer card that you can easily make multiples of for a quick card set to gift to a friend. You can change the colors and sentiment and it could take on an entire different style. I really like those feathers. How about you?

Instructions

1. Trim patterned paper to about 4″ x 5.25″, then mat another patterned paper piece at 4″ x 4″ on top. Add zig zag stitching.
2. Adhere on an A2 card base and add more zig zag stitching.
3. Add distress ink to chipboard frame.
4. Add twill tape and button embellishment.
5. Stamp birds on patterned paper.
6. Pop chipboard frame off card front, at an angle.
7. Stamp banner and sentiment on kraft cardstock, cut out, then pop off chipboard frame.

1. Trim rustic cream cardstock to create an A2 card base.
2. Stamp wood grain background on card front.
3. Using tea dyes ink, distress the edges with the ink.
4. Trim kraft cardstock block (3″ x 2.75″) and emboss with scor-bug to create a frame.
5. Stamp sentiment, then adhere to enchanted evening cardstock (3″ x 3.75″).
6. Add twine to the bottom of enchanted evening cardstock.
7. Stamp dragon fly on rustic cream cardstock, cut out, ink with tea dye, and pop off kraft cardstock.
8. Pop focal pop off card front.

Tips & Tricks

• When using the scor-bug to emboss dotted lines, use the scor-pal to score an even line.

Instructions

1. Trim dark chocolate cardstock to create an A2 card base.
2. Trim white cardstock to 3.25″ x 4.25″ and stamp argyle pattern (first in brown, then in pink).
3. Mat argyle stamped paper on raspberry fizz cardstock, then adhere to card front center.
4. Trim raspberry fizz cardstock strip to about 1″ x 4.25″ and stamp sentiment, the pop off card front.
5. Stamp graduation cap on white cardstock, cut out, then pop off card front.
6. Add rhinestone to cap.

Stamps :: a little argyle, for the graduate
Ink :: raspberry fizz; Clear Snaps – colorbox chestnut
Cardstock :: white, raspberry fizz, dark chocolate
Embellishments :: raspberry rhinestone

Instructions

1. Trim new leaf cardstock to create an A2 card base.
2. Trim rustic cream cardstock to 3.75″ x 5″ and stamp flower.
3. Color flower with Copic markers.
4. Ink entire cream cardstock with blending tool.
5. Stamp sentiment.
6. Add glitter to flowers.
7. Tie ribbon and add button/twine treatment.
8. Mat cardstock on sweet blush cardstock, then on raspberry fizz, then adhere to card base.

Tips & Tricks

• When applying glitter, I use some tacky glue, place some on my fingertip, then rub on the area I want covered, then shake glitter over project. I dump the excess onto scrap paper and start over on any other areas to be glittered.

2. Stamp pattern on doilies and ink with blending tool and dye inks, then adhere to the corners, removing the excess.
3. Punch 1.25″ white squares and ink edges.
4. Pop ‘inchies’ off white squares.
5. Adhere flowers and ink flowers.
6. Adhere squares to card front center.
7. Stamp sentiment and ink the card edges.
8. Stamp sentiment on spring moss cardstock and ink, then pop off doily.

Hey there, Bleeps! I’m back with a Caardvarks challenge…circle cards! This week’s sponsor is Clear and Simple Stamps. I was lucky enough to get my hands on the Flight of the Bee stamp set. I really liked the honeycomb pattern and used it to create a background. I made a traditional circle card and another that featured a circle embellishment. Try your hand at some circle cards to and hop on over to Caardvarks to see what my teammates came up with! There are some cute cards out there using some awesome stamps!

1. Die cut circles.
2. Stamp honeycomb pattern on bottom half of yellow circle die cut.
3. Stamp bee flying lines and sentiment.
4. Tie ribbon around yellow circle die cut.
5. Stamp bee, cut out, add rhinestone, then adhere to ribbon knot.
6. Assemble card base and adhere yellow circle die cut to the card front.

Instructions :: Card 2

1. Trim raspberry cardstock to make an A2 card base.
2. Stamp honeycomb background on bottom of the card front.
3. Die cut a circle and scallop circle.
4. Stamp bees on yellow circle die cut and add rhinestones.

6. Trim turquoise cardstock, adhere, and add stitching.

Hey out there! How are you all doing? I’m getting a little tired. I have lots to do with lots of deadlines (all craft related) and must be done by Sunday. I’m in the studio working double-time! I hope I have more juice tomorrow to get a lot accomplished. I’m so glad I recorded two videos because I can now get my DH to edit it!

OK…anyway, this card was inspired by my fascination with fabric! I created fabric flowers by winding strips, but this time I wanted to hand-cut some. It’s just that simple. I suggest drawing the flower on the reverse side of the fabric, then cut it out. I tried to cut without a sketch and that DID NOT work for me! I thought of the idea of using ribbon as stems/leaves and really like it! I’m sure I’m not the first to use this idea, but it’s neat anyway! I roughed up everything because the fabric frays and I wanted to keep the style cohesive.

2. Trim raspberry fizz cardstock into a rectangle and distress the edges.
3. Freehand flowers on fabric, cut out, and sew buttons on them.
4. Cut a slit into the raspberry fizz cardstock, then tie ribbon into a bow through them.
5. Add fabric hand-cut flowers to ribbon stems.
6. Stamp sentiment, cut out, distress, and add rhinestones.
7. Adhere to card front.
