Papertrey Ink | Stamp-a-faire 2017 | Faux Leather Video Tutorial

Hello, friends! Welcome to Papertrey Ink’s Stamp-a-faire 2017 free online event. I’m so excited to be presenting one of their challenges this weekend.

Have you ever tried to use real leather on your paper crafting projects? I have and it’s not super easy or economical, so I have a solution for you. Create faux leather using paper, water, glycerine, and some ink!

The frustration over creating masculine cards will now be a thing of the past. Leather is a great medium to use for guys. This technique provides an eco-friendly way to add faux leather to all sorts of paper crafting projects. This paper leather not only words great on cards, but also tags and traveler’s journal covers.

Although I suggest using a brown cardstock to create your own faux leather, this technique works on any color cardstock, just like you can find authentic leather dyed in many colors.

You can die cut the paper leather and even stamp on it.

See the challenge on Nichole’s blog here. You have until August 31, 2017 7am ET to enter your “leather” card for your chance to win a $20 Papertrey Ink gift certificate.
