Today, I have more Papertrey Ink project inspiration using their March 2017 Release product collections. Specifically, I am showcasing their Offbeat Birthday and Shadowed Sentiments stamps. Papertrey Ink’s March Release product collections are now available here.
How about a funny birthday card? Here’s one for someone who loves their youthful life, appreciates comedy, or just to make a serious person crack a smile on their special day.
Offbeat Birthday is a great sentiment set for all sorts of birthdays including men, women, and even kids!
I used a previously released Invitation Basics stamp and die collection to create the cake as the focal point of the card. I also used Paper Clippings: Joy to the World banner die to stamp the birthday sentiment.
I also used the previously released Birthday Style stamp set to add streamers to the top portion of the card.
The “Happy Birthday” sentiment is not curved in the Offbeat Birthday stamp set, so to get it stamped on the curved pennant banner die cut, I selectively stamped “Happy,” then curved my stamp a bit more on my block to align it to fit the die cut to stamp “Birthday.”
Sometimes you may have to selectively stamp an image or text in order to get the stamp to curve the way you need it to fit on your project.
This card highlights Shadowed Sentiments stamps. This stamp comes with two sentiments that you can stamp a few ways. In this card, I used all three steps for the Hello sentiment.
This card has lots of confetti. I was able to quickly die cut circles from various cardstock colors using the new Multiply dies. The Multiple dies are a great way to get lots small shapes with one pass through your die cutting machine.
The last part of my card was added by ACCIDENT! I was working on another project and this card was nearby and as I was watercoloring, it splattered onto this card. At first, I screamed in disbelief and frustration, then stared at it and thought this actually makes the card look better! I love how my accident finished off this card.
Thanks for visiting today!
