Winter Snow Globe Revisited

Happy December! I’m temporarily filling in for Papertrey Ink’s December Sr. Design Team Revisited feature. It’s the perfect time for me to create a few more holiday themed projects. Winter Snow Globe is a $15 stamp set that includes the perfect images and sentiments for the holiday and winter season. There are also coordinating dies you can purchase separately for $7. It was so much fun to create with an older set again. I truly enjoyed being able to use it with new products that were introduced since Winter Snow Globe’s initial release.

Winter Snow Globe Dies

My projects today are a few tags and a card.

Let’s start with the gift tags. I used the Wine Bottle Tag to attach to glass milk jars. You can find these online or in craft stores, like Michaels. I picked these up at Target on clearance a few months ago.

The Wine Bottle Tag has definitely been repurposed! I love how it covers the milk jar.

After die cutting the Wine Bottle Tag, I saved each of the circle die cuts that were left over from each cut. Coincidentally, the circle die cut from the Wine Bottle Tag (the circle part that cuts out to thread through a bottle) fits the Winter Snow Globe set. Although Winter Snow Globe has coordinating dies, the snow globe die is one piece. So, if you want to separate the globe from the base like I have done on my tags, you can use the circle die cut from the Wine Bottle Tag.

Next, I stamped the circle for each snow globe and the snowy background. I stamped the images and for the Santa, I paper pieced his clothing. For the snowman, I used Copic markers for coloring. For the Christmas tree, I embellished with rhinestones.

To assemble, I stamped the snow globe base on the tags and the sentiment. Then, I added the circle die cut.

My next project is a winter themed card. I paired other products with Winter Snow Globe to show how you can use lots of items from your personal Papertrey Ink collection to create fun designs.

To start, I die cut the Scene It: Basic Backer and ink blended the top with Aqua Mist ink to create a sky. I stamped the snowy sky using True Black ink. Then, I die cut the Scene It: Everyday and removed the trees to create snow drifts. I stamped the sentiment on one of the snow drifts and added some glitter.

After stamping and coloring the snowman and the Christmas tree, I added it to the scene. I placed the base onto the Scene It: Scalloped Shaped Tag Base and embellished it with silver tinsel.

I used Christmas Cheer to die cut Let it Snow from vellum and white cardstock. I layered them together to create a shadow and adhered it to the card front. The card front is from the Sparkle & Shine patterned paper collection.
