Invitation Inspiration

Today, the design team is featuring Invitation Basics stamps and dies to share how you can make creative, memorable, and special handmade invitation ensembles for special events. I am creating an invitation paper suite for a 40th birthday celebration (and not because I have one coming soon)! The new products will be available at Papertrey Ink on November 15 at 10 pm ET.

Creating invitations doesn’t have to be painful! I’ve made them for a few events and love the reaction I receive. There are so many electronic invitations, that it’s a breath of fresh air to receive an invitation by snail mail to set the tone for the upcoming celebration.

For the invitation, I kept it simple with a few balloons from Invitation Basics stamp set and let the Big Basics: You’re Invited Die as the focal point.

On the reverse side of the invitation, you can add all of the details. I typed it up in a word processing software and printed it out.

I stamped the confetti from Invitation Basics for a unique pattern. If you prefer to use the Internet to organize your event, you can still use handmade invitations and simply add the website for guests to RSVP or gather more details. I’ve done this before and it works well!

But what about if you’re celebrating in style for your big 4-0 and traveling? Make sure to let potential guests know by asking them to save the date. Using Tag Sale #11 die (a luggage tag), you can set the tone that an upcoming trip will be planned for the celebration! I added the Big Basics: Save the Date die cut on the top part of the luggage tag flap.

One you flip the tag open, you receive some details about what to expect! I’d LOVE to receive this great news, wouldn’t you?!

And don’t forget the special envelope to coordinate with the save the date note and invitation. I lined the envelope with patterned paper and stamped the front with confetti and a balloon.
