Butterfly Inspirations

It’s hard to believe that we are already well into Papertrey Ink’s January Release, but here we are. Today, the design team is showcasing an array of products featuring butterflies. I love butterflies and have for many years. I even have permanent ink on my skin of a butterfly and it was hand drawn by my very own husband! I’m not sure if I’ve ever shared this information here, but he’s an artist. He can draw, paint, and now photography and computer graphics. I’m so excited about these new products. They will be available January 15 at 10 pm ET at PapertreyInk.com.

Here are two of my cards I made for today’s post.

My first card features a new Cover Plate: Butterfly die, which is so much fun to work with. I paired it with the new Keep It Simple: Baby stamp set to gift to new parents.

I colored the details of the butterflies with markers on a dry embossed white cardstock. It helped me as a guide to know where to color. I left some of the white area exposed as no butterfly has full color bleed.

There are endless color combinations possible with this die. I also cut off the border edge of the die cut and adhered it to the white cardstock.

I stamped the butterfly details and assembled the die cut.

Next, I stamped the sentiments on the card front, which is patterned paper from Maile’s Black & White collection.

Last, I used Danielle’s paint splatter technique using a paintbrush and reinker to spray some ink over the card front.

My last card showcases Bitty Butterflies paired with Outlined. I wanted to create a one-layer butterfly card to share today, so here it is! I’ve already shipped this one off to someone in the mail!

I stamped the butterflies, frame, then the sentiment. Last, I added the paint splatter. I think I’m addicted!
