Today, I have a video tutorial for Papertrey Ink’s Make It Monday. I am sharing how to use a masking technique with sentiment stamps to create fun and beautiful focal points on cards. Combining sentiments with images makes great one-layer cards, but you can also step the designs up and add dimension. There are a few ways to use this technique.
On this birthday card, I masked the candles around the birthday greeting.
Stamps: Wishes Come True, Stylish Sentiments: Birthday
Ink: Hibiscus Burst, Sweet Blush, Harvest Gold, Limeade Ice, Hawaiian Shores, Summer Sunrise, Lavender Moon, True Black
On this Thinking of You card, I masked the flowers around a squared off sentiment.
Stamps: Vintage Linens, Over Under Easy
Ink: Berry Sorbet, Simply Chartreuse, True Black
Cardstock: Vintage Cream
Other: black pen
This birthday card shows how to mask a framed stroke with a greeting inside and combine with stripes. I also show how you can step it up and add dimension with flower die cuts.
Stamps: Quilted: Spring, Mat Stack 7 Basics
Ink: Aqua Mist, Raspberry Fizz, Summer Sunrise, True Black
Dies: Quilted: Spring
