Hallows-Eve Inspiration

Today, the Papertrey Ink Design Team is showcasing a variety of Halloween stamps and dies. This post will sure inspire you to get creative with both sweet and spooky treats. There is something here for everyone. I’ll be giving more details about what new products I used in my projects below. All of the new products will be available at Papertrey Ink on August 15 at 10 pm EST.

My first card uses Lizzie’s new Haunted Headstones + Haunted Headstones Sentiments stamps/dies. Instead of designing a traditional halloween style card, I chose to create an over-the-hill “cute” headstone birthday card. I love the way it turned out.

To create a scene, I paired it with Blue Skies cover plates. I added flowers to the grounds of the headstones and grassy hills.

My next project uses the new Shaker Shapes: Candy Corn die. I chose to create a shaker candy corn treat box. You can store small treats in the box. I used three small pieces of cardstock to create the base and the sides and attached them to a front and back candy corn die cut. I scored a few lines to attach the sides and base to each other.

To assemble, I had to make lots of die cuts in the beginning. It was so worth it! I kept it traditional with the candy corn color choices. I think this would be a perfect halloween party favor!

My next project uses Petite Places: Spook Manor. I thought these little houses would make the perfect pencil toppers. Instead of a sweet treat, these halloween themed pencils would be great for a student. Simply punch a hole in the bottom of the houses and push through the pencils.

This concept would work great with just about any of the other Petite Places collections too!

Planner by Ashley Cannon Newell for Papertrey Ink (August 2015 - Halloween Pin-ups Kit + Shaker Shapes: Pumpkin + Moments Inked Planner) #AshleyCannonNewell #PaperSuite #PapertreyInk #Halloween #Planner #Dashboard

I’m so excited because my planner for October is ready! Don’t forget you can use stamps, dies, and papers you use for cards, scrapbooking, and other crafts in your planner as well. I chose to use the new Halloween Pin-ups Kit for my planner and boy did it come together quickly. The best part about it all is that I still have plenty of things leftover in the kit to make non-planner projects because you can get countless projects from the stamps and dies and I didn’t use all the paper or clothespins.

On this page, I decided to add the striped socks and witches boots.

On this page, I used one of the paper bags included in the kit as my Halloween planner dashboard. I added Halloween characters to paper clips (instead of the clothespins included in the kit) and they work great! I also added a shaker pumpkin!

I can use this paper bag dashboard to hold any notes, receipts or to-do lists I have during the month.

I used the same twine provided in the kit to make this Halloween tassel. Please note that I had more of the same (black/white/orange) twine in my craft room to make this tassel. The length provided in your kit is not enough to make a full tassel. You may can make a mini tassel.

To make the character clips, I added a glue dot and adhered them to the paper clips. To get a complete look, at the same character die cut to the back side.

I added some sequins to my Shaker Shapes: Pumpkin. It’s a great way to include an interactive element to your planner without a lot of bulk.
