Monthly Moments: January

Today, I have fresh new photos from 2015 to share using Papertrey Ink’s new Monthly Moments: January products. All of the new products that I used on my layouts will be available January 15 at 10 pm EST. I hope this post leaves you inspired to document the happenings in your life.  No moment is too small. They all deserve to be captured and documented in a creative way.

My 12 x 12 Sn@p pocket pages documents our first snow of 2015. Just when I thought “Oh no, I have no photos to share in my new Monthly Moments projects…it snowed! I wanted to make sure we snapped a few photos of Lauren in the snow even though she can’t walk yet. Sometimes, you don’t have any “big” events going on. Make the “little” things count and create fabulous memories for yourself and your family. I wish I had done this years ago – even with just my husband and I.

I love the colors in this month’s Monthly Moments: January journal card collection. I chose to pull out two additional colors (pure poppy and harvest gold) that we wore in the photos and I love how it turned out. My tip would be not to be afraid to add colors to journal cards you use in your layouts. I have a tendency to use the journal cards and not pull in more colors. Why not?! This is what happened when I did and I loved it!

I used the Monthly Moments: January month die and the stamp to add to this 4 x 6 journal card. I also added the harvest gold cardstock strip to add dimension and a pop of color.

Although this pocket is actually a 4 x 12 pocket, I divided it up.

On this side of the pocket, I layered a digitally printed journal card and a photo on a 4 x 6 harvest gold bitty dot patterned paper. The photo is 2 x 3. I stamped the “snow day” on aqua mist cardstock strip and cut the pennant with scissors.

I divided this 4 x 6 pocket into two 3 x 4 sections. One side is a journal card and the other uses Monthly Moments: Journal Card 7 that I hand stitched with clear acetate and filled with red confetti (cut from the new Monthly Moments: Journal Card #8 die) and gold sequins.

I divided this 4 x 6 pocket into two 3 x 4 sections as well. On the left, I added the digitally printed January 2015 calendar onto a journal card. I embellished the card with harvest gold cardstock strip and a pure poppy snowflake (from Monthly Moments: December die collection). On the right, I added a 2 x 3 photos onto a journal card.

This is an open 12 x 12 page. I love using the open pages throughout my scrapbook to showcase a main image and break up the monotony of the multi-pocket pages.

I printed the digital images and die cut them. I embellished the page with some red confetti.

I hand cut this stamped image and used an “x” from Happy Notes (another stamp set being released this month).
