Welcome back to another Papertrey Ink release post. Today, the team showcasing different ways to use Heather Nichol’s Summer Camp stamp set, coordinating dies, and patterned paper. All new products will be available May 15 at 10:00 pm EST.
Although I’ve never really participated in a traditional camping activity (other than a 5th grade field trip that I can barely remember), I am very fond of camps. Why? Well, I met my husband at one! Even though we didn’t sleep in tents or were not in the woods, it was a camp with our peers, away from parents, and lots of fun. I thought about one thing I wish I had while at the summer camp and that was a journal. I decided to make one for a future, more traditional camp excursion that I’d love to take. I discovered “Glamping,” which is definitely more my speed. Check out some of the inspirational photos I found.
So, here’s a glamorous journal for a much anticipated glamping adventure. To create the journal, I folded a few sheets of 8.5″ x 11″ paper in half (at 5.5″) and stitched down the center to hold the booklet together. This is SUPER EASY and looks so fabulous! The finished book size is 8.5″ x 5.5″ I added a spine using Summer Camp new patterned paper (love this fine linen/kraft pattern on the white paper). To pop in some color, I used the polka dotted paper from Raspberry Fizz patterned paper pack.
Here is another view of the journal booklet.
On the cover, I stamped the tent and footprints. Next, I added the outlined alphabet word and coupled it with the lowercase alpha dies. I added a little camera and the “field notes” sentiment and die from the new set!
You can see all the details and the journal tabs in this view.
I also added a few journal tabs to organize the journal a bit.
Most of the pages are blank, but I did do an intro page. The first page is glassine paper allowing you to see through to what’s ahead…
I stamped the U.S. map and some sentiments. I thought this set worked great with the previously released Road Trip set.
On each page, I stamped an image on the bottom right corner. You can see peeks of them in this photo. Photos of blank pages with one stamped image would have been a bit over kill, so I thought this was the best way to show it! So, I hope you liked my camping journal inspired by a glamorous camping adventure or glamping!
I also designed a Bon Voyage card, perfect for any guys’ adventure. As I stated before, I just love this patterned paper, so I decided to stamp on it. Since the patterned paper has all of the camping images, I stamped the cameras and sentiment as the focal point. I die cut the rounded rectangle, stamped the stars, then trimmed off the end with pinking shears. I added some stitching and that section was done!
Again, I used Road Trip with this stamp set because it flows together and I get to use another one of those sets from my stash.
The airmail stripes and sentiment are from Postmarks, yet another set you can use with Summer Camp!
