From Dawn McVey’s Glory Be stamp set, “Oh My Stars!” It’s Day 5 of the March Papertrey Ink release. Super Stars is a stamp set that features some powerful sentiments and coordinating star images. But wait, that’s not it – border star dies to match. I just love them all! Today is a Group Post day and the team has created some fabulous projects to showcase these products. Nichole challenged us to find an inspirational photo and create something from it.
As a wedding photographer, I follow a few wedding blogs, including The Bride’s Cafe and found this beautiful tablescape photo. I just loved the photo, floral arrangements, and table decor. So, I decided to create a mini album using Super Stars with the colors displayed in the photo: Berry Sorbet + Harvest Gold + Aqua Mist + Spring Rain + Blueberry Sky + White. I hope you like my different take on what a super star is!
For the album cover, I die cut a few of the Super Star borders from felt and displayed them like a garland. I stamped a sentiment on a metal framed tag and attached it to a ribbon, embellished with a button.
The album also uses Edgers #5 to create a mini file folder effect. I bound the album with the Cinch and covered the binding to create a binder appearance. More photos on that below.
A few weeks ago, I got the opportunity to photograph some beautiful twins. In the photos, they are only two weeks old and oh so precious. Babies have a tendency to steal the show, so I thought they would make the perfect “super stars” for the mini album.
I die cut a Simply Jane frame to highlight the photo. I also added a star die cut with a sentiment stamped on it.
All file tabs have embossed labels with cute words to describe the page.
On page 2, I added a doily and embossed label – very simple! To bring in a star element, I added a felt star die cut as a banner.
On Page 3, I embellished the page with sentiments. I cut out each sentiment and adhered them to a page stamped with stars. Also, if you take a closer look at the sentiment (on the curvy strips I cut), I altered it by replacing “friends” with “sisters” from Tiny Tags II stamp set! I thought sisters would be more fitting for the photo! 🙂
On page 4, I stamped the sentiment as-is and embellished the photo with a star and felt mini stars, which were produced from the felt banner die cut on page 1.
On page 5, I layered the photo on felt cut with pinking shears and onto a chevron glassine bag. I added some ribbon and a sentiment.
On page 6, I added a felt star die cut along the ribbon edge carried over from page 5. I also stamped one of the twin’s names!
On page 7, I die cut Mat Stack 1 label, stamped a star and sentiment. I also heat embossed yellow stars on the spring rain page.
On page 8, I stamped the sentiment as-is and added some star elements.
On page 9, I heat embossed some polka dots, then added some fabric and Wonderful Words die cuts to the page. I also added the stamped stars around the edges of the glassine bag.
Here is a photo from the side, displaying all of the tabbed pages in those glorious colors!
In this photo, you can see how the book is spiral bound and then also includes a paper wrapped binder.
For those of you interested in viewing more photos, there is a slideshow with all photos of the mini album.
Alrightly, I hope you liked the mini album. I’ll be back tomorrow with the remaining projects for the release. All *new* products will be available Thursday, March 15!
