Birthday Bash

Alrighty, today is Day 4 of Papertrey Ink’s March release previews. Nichole has challenged the team to create projects using the soon-to-be released, 2012 Birthday Tags stamp set and coordinating dies. Birthdays are always such a fun time to gather and celebrate, even if it is to turn another year older. I thought creating an ensemble for a young boy would be so much fun. I imagined a party with a bit of a cartoon, popcorn, and recess type of fun. I hope you have fun viewing my projects!

Birthday Bash ensemble

For the birthday card, I stamped the star background in pure poppy ink on harvest gold cardstock. To create the “ribbon strip,” I trimmed a piece of pure poppy cardstock and a thin strip of spring rain cardstock and adhered them together, then to the card front center. Next, I die cut a star, lacey circle, and plain circle. I stamped the striped birthday tag image onto the circle in spring rain ink, then matted all die cuts together with foam adhesive.

Here is something new! This is a peek at another new stamp set and coordinating die by Nichole called By Invitation and Card Base-ics. I just love how it can fit the coordinating invitation set nestled inside. I stamped the same star background and added a similar ribbon strip and birthday tag logo to the top of the invitation to maintain the same theme. For the invitation insert, I trimmed the pure poppy cardstock to about 3″ x 4″. I also used a tiny bit of Table Service to stamp the type of party on the invitation at the top.

Who doesn’t like birthday treats? I created a fun tag to display and hold the popcorn baggies. I placed a folded Layerz Mat Stack 4 die cut over the glassine bag. The Tag Sale #6 *new* die cut was stamped with that same star background and included the birthday tag element.

Well, that’s it for today, but I’ll be back tomorrow with another project to share! The rest of the team has also been busy creating, so make sure you stop by their wonderful blogs too. Have a great day!
