I’m still making Mother’s Day cards? How about you all? I’ve been dying over here to create various projects, but last night the “vintage” style won and I created this card. It’s not a traditional Mother’s Day card, but one that would be perfect for the vintage mom. A mom that appreciates those unique finds in antique shops in those little quaint towns.
To start, I used Unity Stamp Co. Provencial Collection – Carte Postale stamp set. I thought this unique set was so gorgeous and I had to have it. The problem was, I haven’t used it! So, I just started stamping, picking my favorite stamp out of the set to start with first. I stamped it on vintage cream cardstock using melon berry ink. I cut it out with scissors, then stitched around the border. I also added some Ranger distress ink (antique linen and vintage photo) to the edges.
I trimmed some jute burlap and adhered the carte postale stamped image on it, then adhered it at an angle on the card front. I added some Prima decorative trim and melon berry twill tape (tied in a bow). I die cut a tiny tag and stamped “Mom” on the tag. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink’s tiny tags stamp set. Please note, technically, I added the ribbon before attaching it to the card front. After adding distress ink to the tag, I attached it to the ribbon knot using a DeNami Design sand button and May Arts twine. Next, I stamped the flower using the same ink and paper, cut it out, and inked the edges. I adhered it to the card front using foam adhesive.
I also die cut a postage stamp and stamped the images in ocean tides ink on vintage cream cardstock. I inked it up and adhered it to the carte postale image.
I hope you all are enjoying your week so far! There’s only one more day left until another “wonderful weekend!”
