Watch Me Wednesday (on Thursday basically)…

Hey there! Sorry this is posted so late, but I had to attend a funeral service today. The circle of life is amazing – some come in and some leave, but in the every day we have each other, so please take the time you have now to show you care, love, and cherish your relationships with friends and family.

So, I still squeezed in some time to upload this video to share for the Crafting For Men video series. I had a request to use Graphic 45, so I chose their Transatlantique Collection and covered it in it! I hope you take a peek at it!

  • Kimberley Jackson-Brown - My condolences to you Ahsley.
This is such a nice card! Just wondering how it is that you come up with the layouts of your cards that you create. Do you just ‘go with the flow’ or do you use a sketch? Thanks so much for sharing!ReplyCancel

    • Ashley Cannon Newell - It just depends on the day. Sometimes, I do have a sketch planned out and sometimes I follow the sketch precisely and other times I don’t. For today’s card, I had an idea in mind to use the envelope and make the stamps fit on there, but I had no idea where I was going with the card. I was very hopeful it worked out, especially while recording the video! Luckily, it worked, even the size of the mats because it fit on an A2 card front perfectly. It doesn’t always work out like that, but sometimes it does. To get inspired on sketch ideas, I browse blogs or magazines and use a concept from here and there and then combine them to make it my own. It’s a great technique I’ve been using for a while to create my own sketches, but inspired by others too! So, I may use the idea to wrap twine around the card and a tag sticking out of a pocket from two different designers.

      Thanks so much, Kimberley!ReplyCancel
